We are committed to protecting the privacy of students, educators, parents, and other users of our website and mobile applications (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have regarding that information. By using our Services you agree to the terms described here.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information collected automatically when you use the Services.

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, school/organization, email address and message content when you use the contact form.
  • Any content you submit to us for support, registration, surveys or feedback.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage analytics (e.g., pages viewed, time spent, device and browser information).
  • Technical data such as IP address, device identifiers, and operating system version.
  • Cookies and similar technologies to support the website and app functionality and analytics.

3. Storage Access

GrowthEd Player requests "All files access" on Android devices to automatically discover educational content on USB drives and external storage. We use this access only to:

  • Scan for content folders containing our configuration files
  • Read and play GrowthEd-licensed educational content

We do not read, copy, or transmit personal files, photos, or documents. Access is limited to discovering and playing our educational content packages.

4. Purposes of processing & legal bases

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
  • To deliver, maintain and improve the Services, including analytics and performance monitoring.
  • To communicate with you about updates, initiatives, and resources related to FinEd.
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues or abuse.

Where applicable, we will rely on consent, contractual necessity, legitimate interests, or legal obligations as the legal bases for processing personal data.

5. Third-party services and processors

We use third-party services to help provide and operate the Services. These providers may have access to personal information solely to perform tasks on our behalf and are contractually bound to keep information confidential and secure.

Our current third-party services:

  • AWS (Amazon Web Services): We use AWS to host our website and store data securely. This includes databases, media, and backups.
  • 2Factor: Used to send OTPs for authentication purposes. Only minimal information like phone numbers or emails is shared for verification.
  • Google Crashlytics: Used to collect crash and performance data from our app to improve stability and fix bugs. Personal identifiers are not collected, only device/app context and crash info.

Note: These services do not sell your personal information and only process data as necessary to provide the service.

6. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information:

  • To service providers who process data on our behalf (see section 5).
  • To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or to protect rights, property or safety.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (with notice to affected users when required by law).

7. Children’s privacy

Our Services are intended for schools, parents and educators. We take the privacy of children seriously. If your use of the Services involves collection of personal data of children (as defined under applicable law), we will comply with applicable data protection laws, including parental consent requirements where required (for example COPPA in the U.S. for children under 13).

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child’s personal information has been collected without parental consent, please contact us at contact@growthed.in. We will take steps to delete such information as required by law.

8. Cookies & similar technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, local storage and similar technologies to provide, secure and analyze the Services. You may control cookies through your browser settings; however, disabling cookies may affect site or app functionality.

9. Location & international transfers

The Services are operated from India. Personal data may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence. Where data is transferred across borders we will take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. Specific retention periods vary depending on the type of data and purposes.

  • Request correction or deletion of your personal information.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. However, no system is completely secure — if you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

13. Payments & in-app purchases

If you make payments through our Services, payment processing will be handled by third-party payment processors (e.g., App Store / Play Store billing, Stripe, Razorpay, etc.). We do not store full payment card details on our servers. Replace this paragraph with the actual payment flow details you use.

14. Advertising

We currently do not display third-party interest-based advertising within the Services. If you add advertising or ad SDKs, update this section to list ad networks and the type of data they collect.

15. How to delete your data / revoke consent

You can request deletion of your personal data, or revoke consent for processing where consent was the legal basis, by contacting: contact@growthed.in. We will guide you through the deletion process and confirm once completed, subject to any legal retention obligations.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page with a new effective date and, when required, notify you by email or by a notice in the app.
